Her Books

    Kareen Zebroff is the popular Author of 8 Yoga-books and 2 Cook-books in a total of 16 languages -- all but one of them in English. Kareen started her yoga writing-career with a series of small booklets in which she described, in easy-to-follow elegant detail, the more than hundred Yoga-poses she was teaching on TV for 16 years. Combined, rewritten and transformed, the booklets soon became her first, highly-rated Yoga-book:
 
    1. "THE ABC OF YOGA" - which is a classic that has sold over a million-and-a-half copies in the last thirty-five years. It remains perennially popular because of its eminent readability, clarity and an innovative, yet simple, lay-out that has been much copied over the years.
    One of the best popular Yoga books every written, The ABC of Yoga provides in each of its exercises: * easy, step-by-step instructions * the precise benefits to be derived from their practice * Do's and Don'ts, and How-to Hints to consider. To this day, Kareen's many former TV-students insist on looking for the original books in used-book stores when their own old copies have finally worn out because, amongst many other factors, they particularly like its coil-binding.
    Remarkably, "The ABC of Yoga" book had climbed up to and held the #2 spot on the highly prestigious German magazine "Der Spiegel" best-seller list for all of 1974, right after Alexander Solzhenytsin's famed "Gulag Archipelago". As a result, Kareen was only the fifth woman during the intellectual magazine's then 28-year history to become a cover-story -- in the eminent company of Golda Meir and Indira Ghandi, as well as that of Marilyn Monroe and Vera Bruehne (a beautiful murderess).

    2. "YOGA AND NUTRITION" (originally "Advancing with Yoga") - is the logical sequel of "The ABC of Yoga", and appeals to the Yoga-student who wants to go on to more Advanced Poses.
    It has been reissued twice under separate titles * includes valuable information on the role of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids (EFA's), protein, water and good nutrition in general, as well as many other useful nutrition hints.
   * Because of the influence of Kareen's father, an enlightend M.D. who was ahead of his time in regard to "Alternative Health" (and because of Kareen's own intense nutritional studies), the book's information still holds true today -- over 35 years later.     3. "BEAUTY THROUGH YOGA" - is a highly-regarded book because of its comprehensiveness and diversity. Kareen's personal favourite, it was specially designed for women (and men) who, within the space of 14 days, want a Total Make-over -- physically, nutritionally, and spiritually. Each day covers four subjects indicated by symbols:

    4. "YOGA OVER 40" - is easy to do because it offers specially selected easy yoga poses that do not over-tax the muscles and joints of those who are either beginners, out of shape, stiff, or just getting older. *A revised version has been done in German.
 
    5. "BACK FITNESS THE YOGA WAY" - is a superb little book for those who need to strengthen their back gently -- as Kareen had to do after a catastrophic fall nearly 25 years ago when a bar, from which she was hanging in anti-gravity boots, broke. Everything she learned during a remarkable recovery that she attributes to Yoga (plus a gifted chiropractor and walking), has been passed on to the reader.

    7. "RECIPES FROM KAREEN'S KITCHEN" - is an excellent "natural" cook-book that has stood the test of time as a tasty favourite for making "quick", yet highly nutritious, meals. Its eclectic ethnicity is combined with many vegetarian dishes, and no white sugar or white flour is used. Perfect for busy Moms and hostesses.
 
    8. "THE ABC of Natural Cooking" - is a reissue of the above -- originally called "Nutritious Recipes from Kareen's Kitchen" to link the book to Kareen's "Yoga and Nutrition" TV-show, as many of these recipes were done on the show.     9. "YOGA WITH YOUR CHILDREN" - is a delight for parents, teachers and the kids. The book is designed to make Yoga fun through individualized instruction to young children or to beginners who want to start slowly.
